“Sky-blue for Hope” ribbons
We chose sky-blue for our The Ithemba Foundation ribbons, because blue is the colour of peace, optimism and hope.
The sky-blue beaded ribbons are made by HIV-positive women in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, with each ribbon therefore also bringing hope to them. The ribbons are sponsored, which means the R30 raised from each ribbon sold goes directly to The Ithemba Foundation’s research fund.

Ithemba T-shirts
With their sky-blue colour and inspiring design, The Ithemba Foundation T-shirts symbolise hope as an antidote to depression. These T-shirts are given to members of Team Ithemba who participate in the Cape Town Marathon events on behalf of our Foundation. By running or walking in these T-shirts, they help to raise awareness of depression as a biological disease.
