The Ithemba Foundation

#CrazySocks4Docs

CrazySocks4Docs Day, or #CS4D, raises awareness of the mental health needs of all our healthcare workers. Especially under Covid-19, already crisis-level needs have given rise to another pandemic, mental health, in a sector that needs to care for us, the public. What can you do to show support and turn awareness into action? Just wear a pair of the most mismatched socks you can find to show you care! #CS4D Day originated in 2017 in Australia as an initiative by cardiologist Doctor Geoff Toogood.

The Ithemba Foundation – ithemba means hope – liaised with him and brought the campaign to South Africa for the first time in 2018. In 2019 we launched it as one of our major projects, as it was clear that #Caring4OurCarers is of the utmost importance. With #CS4D on the first Friday in June you can make sure you literally “walk the talk”. Come on, make sure you “Don your socks for our Docs”!
